Essex - Happy Bees

Our beekeeping practices originate from years of experience; passed down through generation to generation in Romania. We’ve kept the important parts of our traditional beekeeping at the top of our list of priorities.

We ensure that our bees are regularly checked for disease and that their care and food sources are exceptional, especially during winter. Our bees are the happiest around and their honey is ethically sourced; this is why we’re called Happy Bees.

"Beekeeping has been in our blood for 3 generations, ever since my grandfather, Fred Payne, started keeping bees way back in 1922. The Payne family has been involved in bees ever since and I'm lucky to have grown up being so deeply involved in the journey all my life." Roger Payne

South Wales - Blorenge Mountain Bees

We are a small family Beekeeping business where all our Bees and Hives and Honey are locally produced. We are based around the Blorenge Mountain near Abergavenny, South Wales. We have been keeping bees as a hobby for over 15 years, with the aim of producing hardy, productive bees with a good temperament, with minimal intervention and use of chemical treatments. Our aim is to encourage more people to take up beekeeping as a beneficial and productive hobby. With that in mind are products are priced accordingly. Our bees are selectively bred from our own stocks - we never import bees or queens, and our timber comes from a local sawmill using locally sourced sustainable supplies.

Scotland - Glen Heather Honey

In 2015, whilst working the day job, my boss caught an interest in the jar of Chilean Rainforest honey on my desk, with its 40+ rating.  Enquiring on its cost, after picking himself off the floor, suggested it might be somewhat cheaper to get my own bees (thanks Niels) and pointed me at a local bee association.

In 2016 we got our first two hives in the garden in rural East Kilbride near Glasgow, then six, then 47 then over 100 and so on.  It was an addiction to bees and the art of beekeeping.  Managing bees is seasonal, even the youngest beekeeper would be lucky to get 70 goes at getting it "right", the theory was the more hives the more experiences in one lifetime.

Glen Heather Honey is my dedication to bees.  To create the strongest, healthiest and happiest honey bees, that produce the finest artisan honey in the world.
